IN THE GRAND SCHEME

The center (that contains all the potential headaches) MATTERS A VERY GREAT DEAL.

We’ve worked with several hundred businesses in the past 2 and a half decades.

Businesses can be structured many ways. But, generally, a business ends up divided into:

1) marketing and sales (which includes research and development),

2) financials; and

3) operations and physical facilities.

Imagine each of these business-behind-the-business areas as 3 interlocking circles

See the little red center?  It’s important.

The “Business Within A Business” has a small little part that controls everything.  Since it’s not part of your core business, you won’t even notice whether it is designed or not.   You are busy making sales, as well you should be.  Since it isn’t noticeable as part of the general business misery, you don’t pay it much attention.

Then, one day, pow!

You are behind to never catch up again.  Even if your business makes money, your lifestyle suffers.  Your stress escalates and you live in a glass house and every passerby is carrying a couple of big rocks.

Nurture the business behind the business or your life will suffer long and strong.
